H1N1 has become a hot topic. The media hype has people lining up at flu clinics for hours to get their vaccination shot. With all of the fear-mongering going on, I thought it would be useful to take a look at the swine flu "pandemic" from a different perspective.
To be honest, I find the idea of mass "immunization" very disturbing. It is even more unsettling that so many people are ready to get injected with a vaccine when most of us really have no idea what is in it. Now, I'm not presumptuous enough to tell others what to do. But I do believe in taking personal responsibility for our own health and wellness. To do this we need to ask more questions and become educated about our "health-care" interventions.
Rather than share my personal opinion on this matter, I invite you to review the following links which provide some answers to some excellent questions, such as:

Why Are Europeans Rejecting the Swine Flu Vaccine?
Here are my own suggestions regarding protecting yourself from the flu:
1. Eat a healthy diet including plenty of vegetables and unprocessed whole foods. Also drink plenty of water.
2. Exercise regularly, including brief, intense resistance training sessions and interval training "cardio" workouts.
3. Get enough sleep. This is essential for maintaining a healthy immune system.
4. Take your vitamins, especially vitamin D! More and more studies are showing the importance of this amazing vitamin, and few of us get enough of it.
5. Wash your hands frequently.
6. Learn as much as you can about what you put in your body.
I highly recommend you take some time to check out the links above and please share your thoughts on this blog in the comment section below.

Swine flu cases continue to fall, as reports of new strains continue to rise

True... it's like a dog chasing it's tail trying to come up with a new vaccine for every strain that evolves. Prevention has to lie in creating a strong, healthy immune system that is not susceptible to the flu in the first place.
Right on, Josh. I really believe that in most cases, flu vaccinations are not only unnecessary, but potentially harmful.
There is something broken about this whole system when so much money goes towards pumping us full of questionable compounds as opposed to educating about the lifestyle factors that are triggers for illness and disease.
Fight back by educating yourself and taking steps to get healthy!
That's the ultimate immunization.
Just my .02 cents.
Why is it that we run to supposedly miracle cures/preventatives instead of beefing up our immune system through the age-old concept of exercising, resting and eating healthy??!! Throw in common sense (including hygiene) in the mix and vaccines will really not be required.
thank you Josh for all that you do for us,I really look forward to everything you give.
I am completely against vaccines,I have followed Dr.Mercola for 3 years, along with Dr.Ben Lerner from "Maximized Living".Since I have lost 117 lbs, quit smoking, exercise regularly, and educated myself on ingredients/toxins,I can say I've had maybe one mild cold in 3 years(I'm 35 years young).I have decided to dig my well before I'm thirsty, and pay the grocer now, rather than pay the doctor later.I used to use the exuse that obesity ran in my family, but the truth was,NOBODY ran in my family.
Thank you again Josh, you are really doing amazing things with your skills and what your purpose is.

Great feedback everyone, and thanks alot for sharing, Shelley! I really appreciate the input from you guys and look forward to more of it on my future posts! Working on some new content as we speak...
A strong healthy immune system is certainly what we need. The 'healthy' part of the equation is fitness, nutrition, and rest as you have said. Strength comes from exposure to the disease in order for the healthy system to develop antibodies. You can do that by being exposed to the real virus and significant likelihood of suffering the disease. Or you can get it from the vaccine with minimal risk assuming you're healthy in the first place.
I was in and out of the H1N1 clinic in no time and had absolutely zero side effects.
Thanks for the comment... I'm happy to see both sides of the discussion! However, I'm not sure if you had a chance to check out the above links. Although the majority of people getting vaccinated may not notice immediate side effects, there is much more involved with "getting your shots" than just exposing yourself to the virus. That is the least of your concerns; the vaccine contains many other toxins (albeit in tiny amounts). Already you may have heard of an increasing number of people suffering "adverse effects" in the news (ie- seizures, fever, breathing problems, allergic attack, auto-immune issues, etc), not to mention the dozens of people who just "get a little sick" after their shots.
Also, the way your body is exposed to the vaccine makes a huge difference... typically we 'inhale' or injest the virus and our immune system responds naturally to it, as opposed to injecting it directly into our bloodstream, which can have an adverse immune response. There was a great article written on this subject. Anyway, it's well worth following the links I've shared above, just to have a balanced perspective on the issues from both sides... no such thing as too much education.
